  36.      Cyclandelate should be stored at room temperature in a tightly closed
  37. container.

  39. USES
  40.  
  41.      Cyclandelate is used to treat vascular (blood vessel) disease in the legs
  42. or brain.  It acts directly on the muscle tissue of the blood vessels to
  43. increase the blood supply to various parts of the body.
  44.  
  45. TREATMENT
  46.  
  47.      You can take cyclandelate on an empty stomach (unless your doctor gives
  48. you different instructions).  However, if the drug causes stomach irritation,
  49. you may take it with food, milk, or antacids.
  50.      If you miss a dose of this medication, take the missed dose as soon as
  51. possible, unless it is almost time for the next dose.  In that case, do not
  52. take the missed dose at all; just return to your regular dosing schedule.  Do
  53. not double the next dose of this medication.
  54.  
  55. SIDE EFFECTS
  56.  
  57.      Minor.
  58.  
  59.      Dizziness, drowsiness, flushing, headache, heartburn, stomach distress,
  60. or sweating.  These side effects should disappear as your body adjusts to the
  61. medication.
  62.      If you feel dizzy, sit or lie down for a while; get up slowly from a
  63. sitting or reclining position, and be careful on stairs.
  64.  
  65.      Major.
  66.  
  67.      Tell your doctor about any side effects that are persistent or
  68. particularly bothersome.  IT IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT TO TELL YOUR DOCTOR about
  69. palpitations, skin rash, tingling in the hands or feet, or weakness.
  70.  
  71. INTERACTIONS
  72.  
  73.      Cyclandelate does not interact with other medications if it is used
  74. according to directions.
  75.  
  76. WARNINGS
  77.  
  78.      * Tell your doctor about unusual or allergic reactions you have had to
  79. any medications, especially to cyclandelate.
  80.      * Before starting to take this medication, tell your doctor if you have
  81. ever had angina, bleeding disorders, glaucoma, or a heart attack.
  82.      * A government panel has recently reviewed the effectiveness of this
  83. medication in the treatment of leg cramps and hardening of the arteries and in
  84. the prevention of stroke.  This drug may not be as effective as was once
  85. thought.  Discuss this with your doctor.
  86.      * Before taking any over-the-counter (nonprescription) cough, cold,
  87. allergy, asthma, sinus, or diet medication, check with your doctor or
  88. pharmacist.  Some of these products can decrease the effectiveness of
  89. cyclandelate.
  90.      * If this drug makes you dizzy or drowsy, do not take part in any
  91. activity that requires alertness, such as driving a car or operating
  92. potentially dangerous equipment.
  93.      * The beneficial effects of this medication may be decreased by the
  94. nicotine in cigarettes.  Try to stop smoking.
  95.      * To prevent dizziness and fainting while taking this medication, avoid
  96. getting overheated by exercising strenuously in hot weather or by taking hot
  97. baths, showers, and saunas.
  98.      * Be sure to tell your doctor if you are pregnant.  Although cyclandelate
  99. appears to be safe during pregnancy, extensive studies in humans have not been
  100. conducted, and cautious use is warranted.  Also, tell your doctor if you are
  101. breast-feeding an infant.  It is not known whether cyclandelate passes into
  102. breast milk.
